Do you need psychological/mental health testing for bariatric surgery or fertility treatments? Here's what happens...You come into the office for a couple of hours. We talk for about a half hour to an hour about your lifestyle, the procedure(s) you are about to have, and how things are going. Then you'll complete some tests for about an hour or so (no right or wrong answers). All of these tests together give me a good picture about how successful you will be with surgery or your treatments. Sometimes I will recommend that you have counseling before and or after the procedure. If I recommend counseling, you can choose to complete your counseling with me, but you don't have to. I'll give you the names and numbers of a few therapists to pick from. I'm happy to refer you to people I know will take good care of you. I then take the results of your tests, and write a report which goes to your doctor.

It's that simple! I know some people are afraid of the mental health evaluation, but it's not as scary as it seems.
